Standard Boring Biography (TM):

I have been an amateur artist all my life. I've dabbled in drawing, painting, ceramics, and have more recently moved on to photography. No matter what the medium, my favorite subject is the human form. I started by taking self-portraits until I could wrangle people into posing for me.

For a short period of time, I even did a bit of modeling other artists. Some of the pictures from my short-lived modeling "career" (read: hobby) can be seen on this site and my modeling profile is here.

I have also worked on the business side of the art world. I've worked in an art museum as well as two privately-owned art galleries. Some day I hope to own my own gallery, but, in the meantime, I put my efforts into organizing a monthly photography\photomanipulation exhibit at Chiaroscuro nightclub in Washington, DC.

What is an "AZCRA"?

My nickname "Azcra" came from a short story an ex-boyfriend of mine wrote. She was the main character and she is partially based on me, but mostly on how I'd like to be. I'm a big fan of strong, independent, kick-ass women in science fiction novels, so that's how he wrote the character. The stories are wonderful and I hope to share them with you in all their splendor some day soon.

Random facts:

1) My husband is photographer Michael Woodward.

2) We have three kitties (Claude, Atticus & Azriel) and a doggie (Nia).

3) I have a pie obsession.

4) I'm an avid reader of science fiction...if you didn't already guess!

5) I have many allergies...dust (dust mite droppings actually), molds/yeasts (hence no cheese), raw onions, garlic. I also can't have caffeine because it gives me migranes.

6) I have a Deviant Art account where I display some of my personal photography.

7) We have a crazy housemate named Krizsa.
